going through something

“going through something” is an Augmented Reality scene of falling bodies and flowing typography, which transforms a printed magazine into a temporary stage. The project was initiated from the will to develop new forms of performance complying with the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions and was created in collaboration with graphic designers Nina Massow and Insa Kühlcke-Schmoldt (Káschem Büro) as well as media artist Patrick Will.

The falling bodies were recreated in real life and transferred to the digital 3D world using photo-realistic scans. For the first time the collective experiments with new media and created a symbol of our society “going through something”.

going through something XL

"going through something XL" is a large-scale floor print which takes the Augmented Reality scene out of the magazine and places it in possibly any space.

This version is exhibited in galleries, libraries and schools. It animates the spectators even more to walk around and interact with the 3D animation as it is appearing significantly bigger.
