Merle | Mischke | Klee asks about masculinity and craft. In times of social and political crisis, many people seek stability in familiar gender roles. At the same time, queer and trans* perspectives challenge these ideas. From this tension emerges a multilayered stage piece about body, labour and identity.
For the first time, the collective invites guests onto the stage: actor Torsten Schütte, who worked as a carpenter before his 40-year theatre career; trans man Leon Franzke, who completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer after studying dance; and dancer Mark Christoph Klee, who grew up in his parents' electrical business and reflects on his youth and coming out in the small town of Neumünster, shaped by far-right extremism. From these biographies emerge powerful, vulnerable stories. "Männer rollen" is an invitation to look at masculinity anew, beyond strength as obligation and clarity as norm.
